For those flatlanders (Vermont speak for out-of-staters) out there - today is Vermont's Green-up day (http://www.greenupvermont.org/). The state supplies us with trash bags and all the communities rally to pick up random trash that is revealed after the massive spring melt-off.

At left are these beautiful woodland flowers. They like shade and do not like to be transplanted. I have seen them in white and purple. I have no idea what they are, but I love them!

And last but certainly not least, Forget me not......................
Today was a great day for Green-up day. It was warm and sunny and probably close to 70! I love this weather, it reveals all the glorious flowers growing in my yard - let's take a look together............
At left are these beautiful woodland flowers. They like shade and do not like to be transplanted. I have seen them in white and purple. I have no idea what they are, but I love them!
At right are sunny happy daffodils! Reliable, and the deer don't bother them at all (which I appreciate). We had snow earlier this w
eek which did not help my herb garden - still surviving are the dill, cilantro, parsley and chive plants. The basil said "I quit".
I also have tons of Viola growing in large patches all over the front lawn which prevents mowing (YEAH) for a week or so.
